A limited theatrical release is also planned for audiences in New York and Los Angeles, giving fans in those cities an opportunity to experience the film on the big screen. However, a broader theatrical rollout does not currently appear likely.
The film is also part of a larger expansion of the Avatar universe under DiMartino and Konietzko's Avatar Studios. The studio is developing additional projects, including Avatar: Seven Havens, an official animated sequel series, along with other projects that could further explore the franchise's expansive mythology.
