Marvel Studios has solidified the Ghost Rider reboot's 2028 release and unveiled an additional, undisclosed film for 2029.

Marvel and Disney have officially confirmed that Ghost Rider will arrive in theaters on July 28, 2028. This places the film between the MCU X-Men movie in May and Black Panther 3 in December of the same year. Additionally, the studio has scheduled a curious mystery film for November 11, 2029, adding another layer of anticipation to its already packed future slate.

The Ghost Rider project, which was initially announced at San Diego Comic-Con, is set to star Ryan Gosling, though the specific iteration of the character he will portray remains unconfirmed, with recent reports suggesting Johnny Blaze. Shawn Levy is attached to direct the reboot, bringing his distinct vision to the supernatural anti-hero. The film's 2028 release window was previously known, but the precise date now provides a clearer picture for its cinematic arrival.

The newly announced November 2029 film joins two other Marvel projects already slated for that year, on May 4 and July 13. This expanded 2029 schedule falls after the anticipated Avengers: Secret Wars, suggesting that any narratives introduced in this period could unfold within a universe that has undergone a soft reset. The studio's extensive development pipeline makes precise predictions increasingly challenging for fans and industry observers alike.

Among the strong contenders for these 2029 slots is a sequel to Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, especially given director Destin Daniel Cretton's recent optimistic remarks. Other possibilities include another Tom Holland-led Spider-Man adventure, building on the success of Spider-Man: Brand New Day, or a fourth Guardians of the Galaxy film, which would likely feature new team members and proceed without director James Gunn. A rumored Nova film also remains a potential expansion of the MCU's cosmic narratives.

Notably, the Mahershala Ali-starring Blade reboot is now considered effectively defunct, a significant disappointment for those awaiting its arrival. Looking to the immediate future, the MCU's next major cinematic events include Avengers: Doomsday on December 18, 2026, followed by Avengers: Secret Wars, scheduled to hit theaters on December 27, 2027, setting the stage for these newly announced projects.
