A leaked trailer for Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse reveals Miles Morales battling for his life against multiple adversaries.
A new, unauthorized trailer for Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse has surfaced online, offering an early look at the highly anticipated conclusion to the animated trilogy. The footage depicts Miles Morales in a desperate fight for survival, confronting his alternate self, Prowler Miles, and a significantly more dangerous version of The Spot. This leak provides fans with their first substantial glimpse into the film's narrative direction.
The circulating footage showcases Miles Morales engaged in a brutal confrontation with Prowler Miles, a scene that follows an interrogation previously teased at CinemaCon. The villainous Spot reappears, now bending shadows and the multiverse to his will, presenting a far greater threat than his earlier, more scattered iteration. Miguel O’Hara, Spider-Man 2099, continues his relentless pursuit of Miles, with the trailer suggesting he has summoned numerous reinforcements across an entire city block.
Further scenes in the leaked trailer bring back Kingpin, the formidable crime lord, and hint at an expanded role for Spider-Punk, who appears to encourage Miles to accept aid from his fellow Spider-People. The footage culminates in an ensemble shot, uniting Miles with his extended Spider-family from across various universes. Curiously, the clip bears a watermark referencing “Apocalyptic Horseman,” an industry insider who has disavowed the leak.
The path to Beyond the Spider-Verse has been fraught with delays, initially targeting a March 2024 release. This timeline was disrupted by the 2023 Writers Guild of America strike, which halted script work, and the subsequent SAG-AFTRA strike, freezing voice recording sessions. Reports also emerged of a toxic work environment, with crew members reportedly enduring long hours under intense pressure, leading Sony to remove the film from its release calendar.
Sony remained largely silent on the project throughout 2024, offering no concrete release window until April 2026 at CinemaCon, where a June 18, 2027, date was confirmed. While footage was screened privately for theater owners and press at that event, the newly leaked trailer's scenes match descriptions from CinemaCon, indicating that Sony is preparing to share official material with the wider public soon.
