A new story in Hogwarts Mystery will finally explore the enduring love of Lily Evans and James Potter.
The mobile RPG Hogwarts Mystery is set to introduce a new narrative experience titled "The Girl Who Loved, " which promises to explore the previously untold love story of Lily Evans and James Potter. This Castle Chronicles story will delve into the couple's past through a forgotten memento, allowing players to learn about their enduring relationship from those who knew them best at Hogwarts.
Despite their pivotal role in the Harry Potter saga, much of Lily and James's life as a couple remains largely unknown, as they are deceased before the main books begin. While their individual histories, such as Lily's bond with Petunia and James's school days, have been touched upon, their shared romantic journey has largely been a mystery to fans.
The developer's statement confirms that "The Girl Who Loved" is the first all-new Castle Chronicles story, indicating a deeper dive into the lore. Beyond this romantic tale, Hogwarts Mystery is also preparing to release a Special Adventure called "Magick Most Evile, " which will uncover a dark secret from players' family histories within the Restricted Section of Hogwarts.
Players can anticipate the arrival of "The Girl Who Loved" in the coming months, following the usual announcement cadence for the game. Additionally, Volume 3 Chapter 7 of the main story is slated for release later this month, continuing the quest to research the Wizarding War in the Ministry Archives to save a close friend. The wider Harry Potter universe also awaits the HBO series in 2026.
