Leaked images from Avengers: Doomsday suggest Doctor Strange is one of four new 'Doom Witches' serving Doctor Doom.
Promotional images for the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday have surfaced, revealing not one, but four distinct "Doom Witches." These mysterious figures, clad in Doom-themed armor, include the previously seen green witch, alongside new orange, purple, and brown variants. The leak has immediately ignited fan theories regarding the identities of these powerful new adversaries.
Among the newly revealed witches, one in brown armor features a distinctive circular slot on its forehead. This specific detail has led many fans to conclude that the character is none other than Doctor Strange. The unique forehead marking strongly correlates with the third eye that shockingly appeared on Strange at the conclusion of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
The potential inclusion of Doctor Strange as a Doom Witch offers a compelling explanation for his absence from recent MCU storylines, following his departure with Clea. Given his immense power, his return under Doctor Doom's command would significantly bolster the villain's forces. This scenario also echoes plot points from Secret Wars, where Strange served as Doom's right-hand in a world reshaped by the villain.
The appearance of multiple Doom Witches suggests a significant threat for the Avengers. While Doctor Strange's identity seems to be a strong fan consensus for one witch, speculation continues for the others, including theories that the Scarlet Witch could also make her return in Doomsday. Avengers: Doomsday is slated to hit theaters on December 18th.
