Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana trailer has arrived, featuring Ranbir Kapoor as Rama and Yash as Ravana in a mythological epic.
The much-anticipated trailer for Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana film was officially unveiled, offering a first look at the mythological epic. Starring Ranbir Kapoor as Rama and Yash as Ravana, alongside Sai Pallavi, Sunny Deol, and Vivek Oberoi, the film promises a grand cinematic adaptation of the ancient legend. This initial glimpse sets the stage for a monumental conflict.
The four-minute trailer opens dramatically with Yash’s Ravana asserting control over his kingdom, establishing his formidable presence. Subsequently, Lord Vishnu's incarnation as Rama is introduced, with Ranbir Kapoor embodying the divine character. Rama, presented by his father Dashrath, solemnly vows to protect humanity, even if it demands the ultimate sacrifice of his own life.
The narrative quickly escalates as Rakul Preet’s Surpanakha, Ravana’s sister, is attacked by Lakshman, igniting Ravana’s fury. This act of vengeance propels the story into breathtaking battle sequences, showcasing intense sword fights and fantastical action. Rama declares his resolve to confront Ravana, promising his death and the return of Sita from his clutches.
The film features an acclaimed creative team, with music by AR Rahman and Hans Zimmer, and lyrics by Dr. Kumar Vishwas. Sridhar Raghavan and Nitesh Tiwari penned the adapted screenplay, while dialogues were crafted by Shreyas Jain and Tiwari. This ambitious project is reportedly one of India's most expensive films, with a budget exceeding Rs 4,000 crore.
Ramayana is produced by Namit Malhotra’s Prime Focus Studios, in collaboration with DNEG and Yash’s Monster Mind Creations. This epic saga is planned as a two-part series, with the first installment set to hit theaters on Diwali 2026. Fans can anticipate the thrilling conclusion with the release of the second part in 2027, promising a complete cinematic experience.
