Spider-Man: Brand New Day May Be Setting Up Venom's Proper MCU Debut

A recreated Amazing Spider-Man #345 cover in the film's marketing has fans convinced the symbiote left behind after No Way Home is finally paying off.

Marvel may be quietly laying the groundwork for Venom's arrival in the MCU proper, and the clue is a decades-old comic cover.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day, due July 31, 2026, has been recreating classic Spider-Man comic covers as scenes in its marketing. One of them nods to The Amazing Spider-Man #345, an issue famous for its "Venom Lives!" cover pairing the symbiote with Boomerang.

That visual has fans reading between the lines. It would fit a thread left dangling since 2021's No Way Home, which stranded a sliver of the Venom symbiote in the MCU when Eddie Brock was pulled back to Sony's universe.

The theory is straightforward: that dormant fragment could have been quietly growing for years, ready to bond with a new host and give the MCU its own Venom rather than a borrowed one.

Nothing is confirmed. Marvel has not announced Venom for the film, which is already stacked with villains reportedly including Scorpion, Tarantula and Tombstone.

Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton and led by Tom Holland alongside Zendaya, Jacob Batalon and Mark Ruffalo's Hulk, Brand New Day looks crowded enough without a symbiote, but the cover homage has fans hoping.
