Two new Haikyu Character Remix volumes, highlighting Shoyo Hinata and Tobio Kageyama, are confirmed for release in Japan in 2026.
Six years after its conclusion, Haruichi Furudate's Haikyu manga is set to receive two new Character Remix volumes from Shueisha. These special compilations will focus on the beloved duo, Shoyo Hinata and Tobio Kageyama, highlighting their best moments. The volumes promise upgraded printing and include new color pages, offering collectors a fresh look at key series events.
The new Character Remix volumes are slated for release on September 4, 2026, initially for Japanese fans. This announcement arrives as the anime adaptation continues its run, with the manga having originally debuted in 2012 and concluded its serialization in 2020. The anime still has significant ground to cover from the original story.
The anime recently released Haikyu!! The Dumpster Battle in 2024, and a sequel film, Haikyu!! vs. The Little Giant, was confirmed last March. While details on this upcoming film remain scarce, it is expected next year. This movie will continue Karasuno's journey in the Spring High National Tournament Quarterfinals after their victory against Nekoma High.
In Haikyu!! vs. The Little Giant, Karasuno High faces Kamomedai High, a formidable opponent known for its exceptional serving, blocking, and mental fortitude. Kamomedai's Ace, Kōrai Hoshiumi, is their own "Little Giant," whose rivalry with Hinata has been a teased storyline. The entire Kamomedai team presents an unparalleled challenge to Karasuno.
Beyond the National Tournament, the manga's final arc explores events several years post-high school, detailing Hinata's continued volleyball career and reunions with former rivals. Initial announcements in 2022 caused confusion, labeling the upcoming films as "final." However, this designation was later removed, leading to speculation among fans about a potential fifth season or additional anime projects, though nothing is officially confirmed.
